Lander opens up the PBC Tournament tomorrow as they Host Flagler

GREENWOOD, S.C. -   The second-seeded Lander Bearcats host seventh-seeded Flagler tomorrow at 5:30 in the Peach Belt Women's Basketball Tournament quarterfinals. 

Tickets for the game will be $10 each and can be purchased exclusively online HERE. Admission is free for students with a valid ID from a PBC school and children five and under. Tickets will not be sold at the venue and must be purchased ahead of time. Fans can have their tickets scanned from their phones or print out their tickets.

Lander all-access sports passes and faculty/staff are not valid for free entry into PBC Tournament games.

STORYLINES

  • These two teams faced each other just four days ago to wrap up the regular season.
  • In the second half, the Bearcats outscored Flagler 56-37 to erase a six-point halftime deficit and take the win. 
  • Aniaya Jester and Vashae Rideout had career-highs in points with 25 and 22, respectively. Jester also had a game-high 11 rebounds and seven assists. In her final regular-season home game, senior Sarah Crews scored 12 points, while Miriam Recarte had ten rebounds and two blocks.      
  • Lander leads the Peach Belt and is fourth in NCAA Division II in assists per game (17.9). They are also first in the PBC and fifth in the country in scoring margin (20.0). The Bearcats lead the PBC in assist-turnover ratio (1.06), field-goal percentage (44.6), and scoring offense (79.2). They are also second in assists (430), blocked shots per game (4.3), and rebound margin (7.7).
