GREENWOOD, S.C. - The lander women's lacrosse team scored 14 unanswered goals to take a 20-3 win over Coker in their season opener Saturday afternoon.

Amariah Lawson put Coker on the board first with a goal just one minute into the game. Five minutes later Melissa Clapsaddle scored on a free possession shot to tie the game at one. She scored another free possession goal just two mintues later to give the Bearcats the lead. Madelyn Tompkins added a free possession goal with 3:30 left in the period to extend the lead to 3-1. |

Emma Arifin scored a minute and a half in to the period and less than two minutes later she found Emmy Peterson for a goal to make it a 5-1 game. The Cobras and Bearcats traded goals to make it a 6-3 game with two minutes left in the half. Alyssa Suchan and Lanie Graves found the back of the net for Lander to close out the half and make it 8-3. |
3rd Quarter

The Bearcats came out firing in the second half, three goals in the first five minutes to increase their lead to 11-3. Clapsaddle scored on an assist from Arifin to round out the scoring for the Bearcats in the period and make the score 14-3. |
4th Quarter

Peterson added two goals in the fourth, and Arifin, Izzy Olson, Amelia McCauley, and Mickey Burnet each scored for Lander to complete the dominating win. |
