GAFFNEY, S.C. - Trailing 14-12 going into the fourth quarter, Lander outscored Limestone 4-1 to upset the 10th-ranked Saints 16-15 Wednesday night.

The Bearcats jumped out to an early lead when Izzy Olson found Mickey Burnett two minutes into the game. Melissa Clapsaddle added a second goal two minutes later on an assist by Emma Arifin. The Saints got on the board at the 8:47 mark, but Burnett scored her second goal of the quarter 30 seconds later to make it a two goal game again. After Limestone again got to within one goal, Burnett scored on an assist by Olson to make it 4-2. Arifin scored less than a minute later to give the Bearcats a three goal lead. The Saints would score two goals back-to-back to make it a 5-4 game, but Burnett scored her fourth goal of the quarter with 10 seconds left to make it 6-4. |

Burnett and Arifin both scored a goal in the first two and a half minutes to give Lander a four goal lead. However, the Saints responded with five unanswered goals to take a 9-8 lead over Lander. Madelyn Tompkins score to break up the Limstone run and tie the game at nine. The two teams each added another goal late in the quarter to make it 10-10 at the half. |

Just 40 seconds into the second half, Burnett took a pass from Lauren Fallow and found the back of the net to give the Bearcats a one goal lead. Limestone then scored three unanswered goals to make it 13-11, before Emmy Peterson scored to make it a one goal deficit for Lander. |
| 4th Quarter |
Trailing 14-12 going into the final period, Peterson would score two goals in the first five minutes to tie the game at 14. The score remained tied until Limestone score with just under four minutes remaining to take the lead. With a minute and a half left in the game, Burnett scored her seventh goal of the game to tie the score at 15. Less than 30 seconds later, Fallow would find the back of the net to give the Bearcats the lead that they would not relinquish. |
