WISE, Va. - After falling behind 5-1 after the first quarter, 18th-ranked Lander outscored UVA Wise 8-5, but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats lost 10-9 Saturday afternoon.

1st Quarter |
The Cavaliers score two goals in the first four minutes to take the early lead. Emmy Peterson would score her 13th goal of the season with just over nine minutes left in the period to make it a one goal game. Wise added three more goals to increase their lead to 5-1 after 15 minutes. |
2nd Quarter |
Wise got a goal in the first 40 second of the second period to make it a five goal game. Another goal by the Cavaliers with just over two minutes remaining made it a 7-1 game. With 1:45 left in the half, Melissa Clapsaddle scored on an assist from Alyssa Suchan. Forty seconds later, Clapsaddle would score again to make it 7-3. Peterson would add her second goal of the half with just under 30 second remaining to cut the deficit to three. |
3rd Quarter |
Wise again scored a goal in the first minute of the second half to increase their lead to four. After another goal by the Cavaliers, the Bearcats got a goal from Mickey Burnett and Peterson would score her third goal of the game to make it 9-6. Mary Clair Robinson scored with just over a minute left to trim the Wise lead to 9-7. |
4th Quarter |
Lander got a goal from Clapsaddle and Peters in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter to tie the game at nine. Wise would add a goal with 11 minutes remaining to regain the lead and hold on for the win. |
