Bristol, Tenn. - Lander's acrobatics and tumbling team was defeated in their season opener by No. 10 King on Thursday.
The Bearcats earned a score of 34.00 during their Compulsory event. The highest score from the first event was a 9.50 during the Pyramid heat. The Acro event was highlighted by an 8.15 during the five element first heat by the Bearcats, totaling 19.25 for the event. The last event of the first half was Pyramid. Lander scored a 24.10, with their highest heat being an 8.55 during Synchronized.
Lander opened the second half with the Toss event earning a 23.20 out of a possible 26.60. The Tumbling event was highlighted by a 9.225 during Aerial Pass, giving the Bearcats a 47.150 for the event. The Bearcats went on to receive a 69.85 in the Team event to close the night. The final score was 252.535 - 217.550.
The Blue and Gold will host Converse for their first home event of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m.
