Men's soccer stays undefeated in PBC action - Defeats Young Harris 2-1 on the road

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The Lander men's soccer team battled tough with regional foe Young Harris to the tune of a 2-1 road victory Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcats advance to 7-2-4 overall and 6-0-2 in the PBC while Young Harris drops to 5-4-3 overall and 4-3-2 in the PBC.

The Bearcats were first to score with a Jed Smith header off a free kick by Charlie Curtis in the 38th minute of play. When scoring first, Lander is now 7-0-2 so far this season.

After taking a 1-0 edge into the half, Lander would score once again in the 76th with Marco Gueli scoring his team-leading seventh goal to give Lander a 2-0 advantage.

The Mountain Lions wouldn't quit, as the host side would put away a goal in the 87th minute to put a scare into the Bearcats.

Lander would hold strong, as it held on to the one-goal lead for its seventh victory of the season.
