STORYLINES
- The Bearcats are winners of three in a row after going 3-1 in the Pacer Invitational last Friday and Saturday.
- Lander will be facing Belmont Abbey for the second time in four days. The Bearcats defeated the Crusaders 3-1 on the first day of the Pacer Invitational. Lander hit .354 as a team with a .516 and .400 attack percentage in the third and fourth set.
- Lander closed out the Pacer Invitational with 3-0 sweeps of Coker and Converse.
- Lander ranks in the top-two among PBC teams in total kills (433), opponent hitting percentage (.113), total assists (406), service aces (74), digs (554) and digs per set (16.29).
- The Bearcats have been known for strong starts. With the exception of last season's spring campaign, Lander has won at least six of its first 10 matches every season since 2012.
- Against Converse, The Bearcats had an attack percentage of .418. That ranks as the best attack percentage recorded by a PBC team this season.
- The same can be said for Lander's 16 service aces against Belmont Abbey. That mark just beat USC Aiken's 15 and 14 aces they've recorded this season.
- On the season, Lander has 433 kills compared to their opponents 294. They average 12.7 kills per set compared to their opponents' 8.6.
- Christina Aguayo leads the Bearcats in kills (145), kills per set (4.26), aces (16) and digs (143). Daria De Carvalho Peixe leads the Bearcats in blocks (24) while Madilyn Reed leads the squad in assists (331).
- Belmont Abbey comes into this contest 0-8, which includes a 0-4 going at the Pacer Invitational.
- In total, the Crusaders have won five sets on the year, with two coming against Valdosta State in St. Augustine, Fla.
- BAC lost 3-0 to Augusta and Limestone while falling 3-1 to Lander and USC Aiken.
- Lauren Hamilton leads the Crusaders in kills (62) and kills per set (2.30). Hailey Ryan is the leader in service aces (6), Paige Rawlins leads the team in assists (166) while Jenna McCullough is the leader in blocks (9.0).
- The Bearcats begin Peach Belt Conference action with a trip to Flagler on Friday.
- Fans looking to watch the Bearcats at Horne Arena will have to wear a mask in the facility per the campus mask mandate.
