ANDERSON, S.C. – Although striking first against the Trojans, the Lander men's soccer team was unable to keep pace and fell 5-2 against Anderson.
Lander falls to 2-2-0 while Anderson moves to 2-0-0 overall.
The Bearcats were outshot 15-9, with Anderson putting eight shots on net compared to the five from Lander.
It would be Max McNulty putting away his third goal of the season to put Lander up 1-0 in the 11th minute of play.
Anderson would respond later in the first half with goals in the 34th and 37th minute of play to go up 2-1.
It would be the Trojans opening up the second frame with another goal in the 47th minute of play to go up 3-1 with Alexander Cox-Ashwood putting away his second of three goals in the game.
Down 4-1, Tom Marriott converted a penalty kick to make it a 4-2 contest in the 60th minute, but a Trojan goal in the 68th minute sealed the deal.
Lander begins PBC play next Wednesday as it travels to North Georgia for a 5 pm start.
