GREENWOOD – After a 4-0 over Newberry on Wednesday in its home opener, the Lander men's soccer team travels to Anderson on Saturday for a non-conference battle.

STORYLINES
- The Bearcats shut out the Newberry Wolves at Van Taylor Stadium on September 8, winning 4-0. Lander saw all four of its goals come from four different players
- Tom Marriott, Max McNulty, Kevin Rubaszewski and Marco Gueli all were credited with goals. Rubaszewski, Rasmus Andersson, Harry Bircumshaw and Max Bolton all were credited with assists.
- Marriott leads the Bearcats with four goals so far this season. He also has eight points.
- Along with leading the Bearcats in goals scored, Marriott is tied for the most goals in Div. II so far this season. He is also third in the nation for total points.
- Rubaszewski, Bircumshaw and Bolton are all tied for the team lead for assists with two each.
- Lander scored four or more goals three times last season. They defeated Flagler 4-0, North Georgia 5-0 and USC Aiken 6-1.
- The Bearcats are 6-4 all-time against Anderson, with the last Bearcat win coming on November 11, 2018. That was a 1-0 victory for the Bearcats.
- Lander is 2-2 on the road against the Trojans.
- Anderson was picked to finish fourth in the South Atlantic Conference in the preseason poll. Wingate was picked to finish first.
- In their only game so far this season, Anderson defeated Mount Olive 3-2 on the road.
- Alexander Cox-Ashwood scored two of those goals for the Trojans, with Harry Ward scoring the other.
- Both Cox-Ashwood and Ward were named to the all-SAC preseason team.
- Gal Elyashiv played close to 74 minutes of action for Anderson, allowing one goal on one shot faced.
- Lander begins Peach Belt Conference action with a trip to North Georgia on Wednesday, September 15.
