GREENWOOD – The No. 6-ranked Lander men's tennis returned to its winning way on Friday with a 6-1 win over Georgia College at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
Lander (10-1) bounced back from its first defeat of the season by claiming the first five points against the Bobcats. The Bearcats swept doubles play as Adam Elliget and Hugo Regner earned a 6-1 win at No. 1, Tommaso Rossin and Matthew De Groot won 6-4 at the No. 2 spot, and Guillaume Tattevin and Kim Oshiro picked up a 6-3 win at No. 3.
In singles play, Regner rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win on court five, followed by Rossin's 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6. A 6-1, 6-3 win from Mikael Erler at the No. 3 spot sealed the win for Lander and Jamieson Nathan followed with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 4 spot. Georgia College got on the board via a retirement on court one before Thomas De Negri ended the day with a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 2.
Lander hosts Flagler Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
