DUE WEST, S.C. – Battling against the Erskine Flying Fleet, the Lander women's tennis team fell 4-3 on the road.

Lander drops to 4-5 overall while Erskine moves to 5-3 overall.

The Bearcats went down 1-0 early after getting swept in doubles play.

Erskine took a 2-0 advantage after winning at the No. 1 singles spot before freshman Chiara Gerbino won 6-4,6-4 at the No. 2 singles spot to make it 2-1. Erskine however would take the No. 5 and 6 singles flights to clinch the win. Sophomore Raquel Acho won in three sets at the No. 3 singles spot 5-7,6-4,6-1 while senior Maria Rey won at the No. 4 singles spot in three sets 6-3,5-7,6-3.

The Bearcats hit the road for their next match as they travel to face Francis Marion on Saturday.
