GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at the hands of Columbus State on Tuesday night at Van Taylor Stadium.

Lander (0-2) fell behind in the fourth minute and the Cougars (2-0) doubled the lead at the 31:39 mark of the first half. The Bearcats put two shots on goal courtesy of Mary Moosbrugger and Kaitlyn Anderson in the second half, but could not find the back of the net. Sarah Owen recorded five saves in goal as the Cougars held a 13-2 shot advantage. 

The Bearcats will look to pick up their first victory of the next Monday as Lander travels to Georgia Southwestern for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
