GREENWOOD – The No. 6-ranked Lander men's tennis team faces a pair of tests this week as the Bearcats travel to Emmanuel on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. before hosting Augusta in the Peach Belt Conference opener on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

STORYLINES

• Lander (4-0) won the City of Florence Invitational last weekend, defeating Barton 4-0 in the championship match. 

• The Bearcats are aiming for their first 5-0 start since 2013.

• Since 2011, Lander is 74-9 at home.

• Emmanuel (3-3) is facing its third PBC opponent of the season after falling 4-3 to Young Harris and 5-2 against North Georgia. 

• Augusta (1-1) dropped a 4-0 decision to Palm Beach Atlantic in Florence, the team Lander beat in the semifinals. 

• Matthew De Groot and Adam Elliget are 4-0 at No. 2 doubles this season.
