Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Lander women's basketball team outscored Flagler by 19 in the second half, led by 15 points from Tabitha Dailey, as the Bearcats earned a 89-72 victory over the Saints on Wednesday night.
Lander (14-3, 9-0 PBC) earned its 10th consecutive win while Kevin Pederson notched his 300th victory as head coach of the Bearcats. Flagler (4-11, 2-7 PBC) fell to 1-10 in its last 11 meetings against Lander.
Zamiya Passmore pumped in 25 points, while Dailey added 21 and 10 rebounds. Jessica Harris finished with 17 points.
Flagler took a two-point lead into halftime and extended the lead to 53-46 with 5:45 left in the third quarter, but Dailey's rebound and putback sparked a 26-5 Bearcat run. During that stretch, Lander held the Saints without a field goal for 6:11, building a 14-point cushion after Passmore's layup with 7:11 to go in the fourth quarter. The Saints threatened late, cutting the deficit to 10 points, but Lander's defense clamped down and held Flagler scoreless for the final 3:05 of the night. On the evening, the Bearcats limited the Saints to 34.6 percent shooting from the floor. The Bearcats shot 61.8 percent from the field in the second half, scoring 54 points over the final 20 minutes of the game.
Lander returns home Saturday afternoon to face USC Aiken at 1:30 p.m.
