No. 8 Bearcats see season end in Southeast Regional final

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 8-ranked and fifth-seeded Lander men's tennis team ended its season on Sunday afternoon against No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Columbus State in the NCAA Southeast Regional final at the Walden Tennis Center.

The Bearcats (18-6) fell to the Cougars (25-2) 4-0, ending Lander's season. Columbus State will advance to the Round of 16 in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Lander's season ended with its seventh consecutive appearance in a regional final and its 14th straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. 

The Bearcats earned the first win of the day at No. 2 doubles as Eirik Groner and Adam Elliget picked up a 6-1 victory. However, Columbus State answered with wins on courts one and three to take the doubles point and followed with three victories in singles to complete the match.
