No. 7 Bearcats fall to No. 2 Columbus State, 5-2

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 7-ranked Lander men's tennis team saw its four-match winning streak come to an end against the defending national champions on Friday, falling 5-2 to No. 2-ranked Columbus State.

Lander (15-4, 6-2 PBC) dropped the doubles point to the Cougars (19-2, 8-0 PBC) as Columbus State earned wins on all three courts in doubles action. The Cougars then notched the first three wins of singles play before Aly Zaghloul gutted out a 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 win at No. 4 to put the Bearcats on the board. Adam Elliget ended the day with a 7-5, 0-6, 7-6 victory at court six to give Lander the final point of the match.

The Bearcats face Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon for its final match of the regular season.
