GREENWOOD – The Lander softball team shook off a 6-2 loss to respond with a 4-0 win and earn a split against Georgia Southwestern on Friday at Dolny Stadium. 

Lander (14-10, 1-3 PBC) responded from the shutout in game one with a pair of Kasey Rogers' RBI and a complete-game shutout from Abby Killian (8-3), who limited Georgia Southwestern (13-11, 2-2 PBC) to two hits while striking out 11 batters. 

Rogers' two-run single in the fifth inning of game two put the Bearcats up 2-0. Lander tacked on two more runs with an RBI double from Chandler Carey and an RBI single from Morgan Watson in the sixth.

Lander welcomes Columbus State to Doug Spears Field for a doubleheader Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
