GREENWOOD – Lander setter Madilyn Reed has been named the Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Reed leads the PBC in assists with 989 and is second in the league with 9.89 assists per set. The Graniteville, S.C., native has recorded 12 consecutive double-doubles for the Bearcats.

Against UNC Pembroke, Reed tallied 48 assists and 16 assists in a three-set sweep. Reed followed up that performance with 55 assists and 10 digs against Francis Marion. 

This is Lander's third weekly honor this season and the fifth of Reed's career, giving her the most Specialist of the Week awards in program history. 

Reed and the Bearcats continue PBC play with a trip to USC Aiken on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
