GREENWOOD – The No. 19-ranked Lander men's golf team will host the ninth annual Bearcat Classic on Monday and Tuesday, at the par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club.
STORYLINES:
• Lander has placed in the top-10 of all eight events this season, including four top-five finishes.
• The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
• The Bearcats won last year's tournament by seven strokes.
• The field of 19 teams includes the Bearcats, No. 7 Columbus State, No. 17 Lincoln Memorial, Anderson, Barton, Belmont Abbey, Clayton State, Coker, Erskine, Flagler, Georgia College, Georgia Southwestern, King, Lenoir-Rhyne, Mount Olive, North Georgia, West Georgia, Wingate, Young Harris.
• Lander has placed eighth in each of its last two events.
• Jon Parker carded a 209 to finish fifth at last weekend's Bobcat Invitational.
• The Bearcats are currently 17th in the GolfStat Relative Rankings.
