GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Lander women's tennis team swept all but one doubles match Tuesday afternoon and defeated Limestone, 8-1, in a non-conference match.
Lander improves to 3-0 overall, while Limestone drops to 0-5.
In singles, No. 1 Yuriko Ono (LU) def. Alexandra Boulbin (LC), 1-6, 6-0, 6-2; No. 2 Caroline Yodice (LU) def. Ana Chirila (LC), 7-6, 2-6, 1-0 (10-3); No. 3 Ivanka Mocic (LU) def. Hannah Hopkins (LC), 6-2, 6-4; No. 4 Nelli Lius (LU) def. Camille Haus (LC), 5-7, 6-2, 13-11; No. 5 Julia Suzuki (LU) def. Gabriela Ooststroom (LC), 6-2, 6-1; and No. 6 Isabella Schulz (LU) def. Kayla Meermans (LC), 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, No. 1 Hopkins/Haus (LC) def. Yodice/Schulz (LU), 8-6; No. 2 Ono/Lius (LU) def. Boulbin/Ooststroom (LC), 8-4; and No. 3 Mocic/Suzuki (LU) def. Meermans/Chirila (LC), 8-6.
Lander will next travel to Georgia Southwestern for a Peach Belt Conference match at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25.
