Box Score FLORENCE, S.C. – The Lander men's basketball team placed four players in double-figures, but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats dropped a Peach Belt Conference contest at Francis Marion, 88-77, on Wednesday night.
Francis Marionimproves to 11-15 overall and 6-11 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 10-15, (7-9).
Rahu Purdie led the Bearcats with 16 points on the night. Nicklas Jonsson netted 15 points, connecting on 5-of-8 shots from the floor, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. Chris Tate and Jordan Dingle each scored 11 points.
For FMU, Brandon Parker tallied a game-high 25 points, while Detrek Browning had 24 points and six assists Judah Alexander scored 13 points for the Patriots.
Lander, which led 38-35 at halftime, connected on 27-of-56 field goals (48.2 percent), including 9-of-25 threes (36 percent), and 14-of-16 foul shots (87.5 percent).
The Patriots made 33-of-65 floor shots (50.8 percent), including 14-of-26 threes (53.8 percent) and 8-of-12 free throws (66.7 percent).
