Box Score GREENWOOD – Behind two goal from Ismael Noumansana, Lenoir-Rhyne spoiled Lander's home opener as the Bearcats fell 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Van Taylor Stadium.
Lander moves to 0-2 on the season, while Lenoir-Rhyne improves to 1-0-1.
The Bears took a 1-0 lead at the 14:07 mark on Noumansana's first goal of the season off an assist from Marc Fernandez. Lenoir-Rhyne put the game away at 69:57 as Noumansana took a pass from Sercan Cihan and snuck it inside the right post.
Lander outshot the Bears 20-12, and led in corner kicks, 6-2.
Lenoir-Rhyne was tagged with four yellow cards and a red card, while Lander received five yellow cards on the day.
Lander goalkeeper Dean Cowdroy tallied four saves, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Zach King registered eight.
