Box Score

GREENWOOD – Katelyn Richard's lone goal in the 37th minute proved to be the difference on Saturday night as Belmont Abbey's women's soccer team defeated Lander, 1-0, in a non-conference match at Van Taylor Stadium.

Lander, which falls to 1-1 on the season, will travel to rival Erskine on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 5:00 P.M. for its first road match of the season. Belmont Abbey improves to 1-0 on the year.

The Crusaders outshot Lander 7-1 in the first half, finishing with a 12-10 edge in the shot department. The Bearcats managed five corner kicks to Belmont Abbey's two, but could not find the net.

Lander goalkeeper Megan Wiley recorded five saves for the Bearcats, while Belmont Abbey's Kaitlyn Paul had two.
