Bearcats snap losing skid with 1-1 draw against Flagler

GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team fought to a 1-1 draw against Flagler in a Peach Belt Conference match at Van Taylor Stadium on Thursday night. 

Lander improves to 1-4-1 overall, while Flagler moves to 1-2-2. 

The Bearcats travel to Florence next Wednesday to take on in-state PBC foe Francis Marion.  

Flagler took a 1-0 lead on a Katie Reed goal from the left side of the box at 33:20.

Lander rallied to even the score at 1-1 when Kayla Walker scored her first goal of the season on a free kick from just outside the box at the 42:12 mark. 

Lander outshot the Saints, 16-15, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 8-5.

Flagler goalkeeper Racheal Cecil and Lander's Megan Wiley each had eight saves on the night.
