GREENWOOD – The Lander volleyball team continued its unbeaten start to the 2016 season on Friday night, defeating Peach Belt Conference foe Francis Marion, 3-1, at Horne Arena.

Lander, which improved to 9-0, (1-0) on the season, defeated the visiting Patriots 21-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-20. Francis Marion fell to 6-3, (0-1).

Halle Dotson led the Bearcats with 14 kills, while Dale Rogers added 12 kills. Amanda Medlock chipped in with 11 kills and 10 digs. Sophia Perkins posted a team high 23 assists, while Hannah McManus led the Bearcats with 34 digs. Kendall Korte contributed 22 digs on the night. Francis Marion was led by Carlie Smith's 14 kills and 18 digs.

Lander returns to action Saturday at 2:00 PM as they play host to UNC Pembroke.
