Box Score GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team fell to UNC Pembroke, 2-0, on Wednesday night in a Peach Belt Conference contest at Van Taylor Stadium.
With the loss, the Bearcats move to 3-9-1 and 2-6-1 in PBC play. UNC Pembroke improved to 9-2, (7-0).
Courtney Crump opened up the scoring at the 26:02 mark, netting her first goal of the season as she connected off of a Mackenzie Wright assist.
Kirstina Stevenson extended the UNC Pembroke lead to 2-0 at the 75:43 mark as she tallied her third goal of the year.
UNCP outshot Lander, 22-12, and led in cornder kicks, 8-4.
Hannah Cowan grabbed ten saves for Lander, while Gina Ryan tallied four saves for UNC Pembroke.
With three games remaining in the regular season, Lander sits three points behind Montevallo for eighth place in the PBC. The league's top eight teams advance to the conference tournament. The Bearcats travel to Montevallo on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 6:00 p.m.
