GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team dropped a Peach Belt Conference match to Armstrong State on Wednesday night, 4-0, at the Van Taylor Stadium. 

Lander falls to 3-7-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the PBC, while the Pirates improve to 8-1-1

Armstrong State took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Jenny Allen at the 15:16 and 19:48 marks. 

The Pirates pushed across two more goals in the second half, as Martha Trimbach scored at 60:24 and 78:15. 

Armstrong State outshot Lander, 19-9 and led in corner kicks, 6-1.

Bearcat goalkeeper Hannah Cowan had six saves, while Pirate goalkeeper Erica Laurens tallied three. 

Lander returns to action on Saturday night at 5:00 p.m. as the Bearcats host Young Harris.
