Box Score GREENWOOD – Conor Felstead scored two goals in the first half on Tuesday night as the Lander men's soccer team won its seventh consecutive match, defeating Mars Hill, 5-0, in a non-conference match at Van Taylor Stadium.
Lander improves to 8-3 overall, while Mars Hill drops to 5-7.
The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead when Felstead fired in his fifth goal of the season at 24:40 on an assist from Richard Bryan.
Lander extended the lead to 2-0 at 35:19 when Felstead headed in a rebound off a Jamie North shot. Sam lofts scored off a Hugo Delhommelle assist with just 15 seconds remaining in the first half to give the Bearcats a 3-0 advantage.
Lander added two more goals in the second half when Sinclaire Sandy booted in a rebound from Richard Bryan at the 49:59 mark. Ian Foulger capped the scoring on a header off another Delhommelle assist at 65:19.
The Bearcats outshot Mars Hill, 23-2, and led in corner kicks, 2-1.
Lion goalkeeper Kristopher Wennin had seven saves.
