Box Score GREENWOOD - The Lander men's soccer team remained unbeaten Wednesday night as the Sam Lofts-led Bearcats downed Peach Belt Conference rival USC Aiken, 4-2, at Van Taylor Stadium.
Lander improves to 7-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the PBC, while USCA drops to 2-3-2, 0-2-0.
Lofts netted two goals for the second time this season, while Michael Leach and Christoph Krekeler added their first scores of the year.
Leach gave the Bearcats a 1-0 advantage in the fifth minute when he fired in a missed Jamie North shot into the goal.
After the Pacers' Nathan Shanko tied the game at 1-1 off an assist from Jarrel Smalls, Lofts put the Bearcats up for good at 53:00 when he netted a pass from North.
Krekeler stretched the lead to 3-1 at 54:27 on an assist from Hugo Delhommelle, then Delhommelle teamed up with Lofts on his second goal at 57:55 to make it 4-1.
Brett Smith scored the Pacers' final goal at 60:00.
Lander outshot the Pacers, 22-16, and led in corner kicks, 6-4.
Bearcat senior goalkeeper Barrett Nielsen had six saves, while USCA's Andre Bernardini recorded 10.
