BELMONT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team scored three first-half goals and added two more in the second to defeat Lander, 5-0, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game.

Lander, which drops to 1-2 on the season, will travel to North Greenville on Wednesday, Sept. 16, for a 5 p.m. non-conference contest. Belmont Abbey improves to 2-1-1.

Meghan Philp and Cierra Skyers netted two goals each for the Crusaders, while Kate Hennessy was credited with the other.

Lander goalkeeper Megan Wiley had nine saves for the Bearcats, while Belmont Abbey's Kaelyn O'Hop had two.

The Crusaders outshot Lander, 28-9, and led in corner kicks, 6-3.
