GREENWOOD - The No. 35-ranked Lander women's tennis team posted its second shutout of the season Tuesday when the Lady Bearcats defeated Columbia College, 9-0, in a non-conference match at The Joe Cabri Courts.

Lander improves to 5-1 overall, while Columbia College drops to 2-5.

Maria Reiss (C) 6-2, 6-0; No. 4 Anni Poikola (L) def. Lydia Royals (C) 6-0, 6-1; No. 5 Alyssa Savill (L) def. Sanja Pantelic (C) 6-0, 6-0; and No. 6 Lori Flick (L) def. Michelle Troup (C) 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles, No. 1 Marion Courbis/Ivanka Mocic (L) def. Erin Green/Maria Reiss (C) 8-2; No. 2 Elise Sancelme/Gabrielle Woodson (L) def. Ashley Latham/Lydia Royals (C) 8-0; and No. 3 Maggie Elliott/Renata Mello (L) def. Sanja Pantelic/Michelle Troup (C) 8-3.
