VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 7-ranked Lander men's tennis team dropped only its second match of the season Sunday when the Bearcats fell to No. 3 Barry, 5-0, in a non-conference match.
Lander moves to 4-2 on the season, while Barry improves to 6-0. The match was called when Barry earned the necessary points to win the match.
In doubles, No. 1 Fabian Groetsch/Ahmed Triki (B) def. Adam Jonsson/Loic Minery (L) 8-1; No. 2 Kevin Sielmann/Renato Lombardi (B) def. Marc Hofer/Thibaut Leoussoff (L) 8-6; and No. 3 Dominik Haider/Franco Echenique (B) def. Benjamin Salle/Samuel Poutignat (L) 8-3.
In singles, No. 2 Fabian Groetsch (B) def. #21 Benjamin Salle (L) 6-4, 6-4; and No. 6 Fabian Pronnet (B) def. Diego Zegarra (L) 6-0, 6-2.
