Box Score GREENWOOD - Lander's Julia Ferreira-Alves was selected the Peach Belt Conference Volleyball Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Year, while Tarryn Angermeier was named to the All-PBC squad for the third time it was announced at the PBC's annual banquet today at USC Aiken. Ferreira-Alves, a 5-9 senior from Knoxville, Tenn., led the PBC in total digs (644) and was second in digs per set (4.95), while adding 116 kills, 36 assists and 26 block assists. She was also named to the All-PBC team in 2014.
Angermeier, a 5-9 senior, middle hitter from Spartanburg, S.C., who was selected the PBC Freshman of the Year in 2012, was named to the All-PBC first team. Angermeier was second in the PBC in total blocks (145), blocks assists (122) and block per set (1.12); third in solo blocks (23); and fifth in total attacks (944). She also earned all-conference honors as a sophomore.
The All-PBC combo helped lead the Bearcats to a school-record 24 overall wins this season, including a new best of 11 PBC victories.
