GREENWOOD - Senior Russell Parker scored with less than two minutes remaining in regulation Saturday afternoon to lead the No. 13 Lander men's soccer team to a 1-1 tie against Francis Marion in a Peach Belt Conference match at Van Taylor Stadium.

The game was the regular-season finale for both teams and the brackets for next week's PBC Tournament will be announced later today (Saturday).

Lander moves to 12-2-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the PBC, while FMU is now 10-4-2, 5-3-1.

Francis Marion's Harrison Smith gave the Patriots an early 1-0 lead when he scored from in front of the goal off a double-assist from Sindre Traaseth and Sven Ricke at 7:06.

Parker's goal came at 88:15 off an assist from Oliver Brock, also from in front of the goal.

Both teams had three shots in the first overtime, while neither recorded one in the second extra period.

For the game, Lander outshot the Patriots, 29-11, and led in corner kicks, 9-5.

FMU goalkeeper Jonathan Mannes tallied 11 saves, while Lander's Barrett Nielsen had three.
