GREENWOOD – Julia Ferreira-Alves, Kendall Korte, Sophia Perkins and Ali Kirk all posted double-doubles Friday night to lead the Lander volleyball team to a thrilling, 3-2 victory over the University of Montevallo in a Peach Belt Conference game in Horne Arena. Game scores were: 13-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-16, 15-9.

Lander improves to 21-9 overall and 9-5 in the PBC, while Montevallo drops to 18-9, 9-4.

Ferreira-Alves posted 12 kills and 30 digs, while Korte had 13 kills and 13 digs, Perkins 23 assists and 12 digs, and Kirk 30 assists and 12 digs. Khiani Kelly added 16 kills, Halle Dotson 15 kills, and Mallory Taylor 33 digs. Reyonia Whipple led the team in blocks with one solo and seven assists.

For Montevallo, Kristy Bohan had 20 kills, Rebekah Phelps 15 kills and 27 digs, Chandler Cooper 13 kills, Nicole Holton 10 kills and 22 digs, Hannah Christie 52 assists and 14 digs, Carissa Bell 35 digs and Grace Harris 11 digs.

Both teams had a .192 hitting percentage.

Lander will next host Columbus State at 2 p.m., Saturday, in a PBC matchup in Horne Arena.
