Box Score GREENWOOD - The No. 9-ranked Columbus State women's soccer team scored three first-half goals Saturday afternoon en route to a 4-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander on Senior Day at Van Taylor Stadium.
Columbus State improves to 13-2-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 7-6, 5-4. The loss snapped Lander's four-game home win streak.
The Cougars' Taylor Marks netted the first of her two goals at 7:45 off an assist from Mandy Janowitz. After Andi Larese stretched the CSU lead to 2-0 at 32:20 off a pass from Chelsea Person, Marks netted her second goal at 33:41.
Nicole Corcione, who was selected the NSCAA National Player of the Week on Oct. 14, finalized the scoring at 54:30 after she broke away down the left side and fired a shot in a shot from 10 yards out.
Columbus outshot Lander, 16-10, and led in corner kicks, 9-1.
Lander goalkeeper Shannon DeSantis grabbed seven saves, while CSU's Maylyn Parsons had five.
The Bearcats will next travel to Dahlonega, Ga. for a 5 o'clock PBC contest at North Georgia.
