GREENWOOD - Lander's Logan Lewis saved the day Wednesday when she placed a penalty kick into the right side of the net in overtime to lead the Bearcats past Young Harris, 1-0, in a Peach Belt Conference game at Van Taylor Stadium.

The Bearcats improve to 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the PBC, while Young Harris drops to 4-8, 2-6.

Lewis was fouled by YHC's Olivia Goddard at 91:11 in the middle of the box. The goal was Lewis' team-leading seventh of the season and her third game winner.

The Bearcats, who lead the YHC series, 5-0, outshot the Mountain Lions, 20-10, and led in corner kicks, 7-2.

YHC goalkeeper Arielle Charles totaled 11 saves, while Lander's Shannon DeSantis had five.

Lander will next host PBC rival Columbus State at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, at Van Taylor Stadium.
