Box Score GREENWOOD – The Lander men's soccer team got back on the winning track Wednesday night when the Bearcats netted three second-half goals en route to a 3-0 non-conference victory over Coker College at the Jeff May Complex.
Lander improves to 3-1-0, while Coker drops to 0-3-2.
The Bearcats' Jose Cubillan scored what proved to be the winning goal at 52:01 on a free kick following a Coker handball inside the box.
Robert Seaton stretched the Lander lead to 2-0 at 86:39 on a shot from 15 yards from the right off an assist from Elias Hatungimana.
The Bearcats scored their final goal at 87:48 when Hatungimana found the back of the net from in from in front of the goal off a pass from Ali Mohamed.
Lander outshot the Cobras, 13-11, and led in corner kicks, 11-4.
Both Lander goalkeeper Barrett Nielsen and Coker's Kyndle Cobb had four saves.
The Bearcats will next host Georgia Southwestern in their Peach Belt Conference opener at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20.
