GREENWOOD - The Lander volleyball team remained undefeated Tuesday night as the Bearcats stretched their school-record start to 9-0 with a 26-24, 25-17, 37-35 non-conference victory over Southern Wesleyan in Horne Arena.

Southern Wesleyan dropped to 6-3 with the loss.

Sydney Tracy led Lander with 18 kills, while Kendall Korte added 17 and Tarryn Angermeier 13. Setter Jessica Register posted a double-double with 49 assists and 19 digs, while Julia Ferreira-Alves added 22 digs and Kaitlyn Harrison 16 digs.

Southern Wesleyan was led by Sarah Hughey (20 kills, 16 digs), Cherilyn Ramsey (11 kills), Megan Widener (41 assists, 21 digs) and Courtney O'Brien (21 digs).

Lander will next open the Peach Belt Conference portion of their schedule when the Bearcats travel to UNC Pembroke for a 6 p.m. contest on Thursday, Sept. 18.
