GREENWOOD – The No. 40 Lander women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and three singles to defeat UNC Pembroke, 5-4, Wednesday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference match at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 11-4 overall and 6-4 in the PBC, while UNCP drops to 9-7, 2-7.

In singles, No. 1 Leigh-Anne McAfee (UNCP) def. Marion Courbis (L) 6-3, 3-6, 6-3; No. 2 Carolina Lainez (L) def. Shelby Bickel (UNCP) 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 Hannah Herlocker (UNCP) def. Ivanka Mocic (L) 6-3, 6-1; No. 4 Gabriela van Ooststroom (UNCP) def. Tiffany Vanhpraseuth (L) 6-0, 6-4; No. 5 Alyssa Savill (L) def. Monica Espitia (UNCP) 7-5, 6-3; and No. 6 Cayce Bradley (L) def. Madeline DiNunzio (UNCP) 6-2, 6-0.
