NEWBERRY – The No. 7 Lander men's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles Friday afternoon in a 8-1 non-conference victory over Newberry College at the Cannon Tennis Courts.

Lander improves to 9-3 overall, while Newberry drops to 7-6.

David Sons (N) 6-2, 6-0

In doubles, No. 1 Adam Jonsson/Oscar Axelsson (L) def. Michael Saunders/Vinicius Botelho (N) 8-4; No. 2 Vincent Verpeaux/Niklas Terhorst (L) def. Fernando Espana/Carlos Nicolopulos (N) 8-5; and No. 3 Samuel Poutignat/Marc Hofer (L) def. Jeffery Kiser/Mohammed Chakir (N) 8-0.
