Box Score 2 GREENWOOD - Lander's Taylor Crawford threw a no-hitter Tuesday night to lead the Lander softball team to a 3-0 victory in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader against Tusculum College at Doug Spears Field. Tusculum won the first game, 1-0.
Crawford, who improves to 2-4, struck out 10 and walked four in the complete game shutout.
Tusculum's Rachel Medley (2-3) took the loss with three earned runs on seven hits in six innings of work.
The Bearcats' Aubrey Lamar smashed a home run over the left field fence in the fourth inning, then Lander added two more runs in the fifth when Destiny Clyde doubled in pinch runner MaKenzie Smith and Addy Shelble.
Clyde and Reychel Webster both went 2-for-3 for Lander.
In the first game, Tusculum's Kelly King (6-4) earned the win, striking out three, walking one and allowing six hits in the complete seven innings.
Lander's M.K. Peagram (0-4) took the loss with three strikeouts, one walk and one hit in six innings pitched.
Tusculum scored the lone run of the game in the sixth inning when Carolyn Williamson doubled, then later scored on a Lander error.
Nikki Montesanti batted 2-for-3 for the Bearcats.
