Box Score MORROW, Ga. – The Lander men's basketball team saw its six-game winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon when Clayton State's Charles Shedrick netted a three-pointer with four seconds remaining to give the Lakers a 55-52 Peach Belt Conference victory.
Clayton State improves to 7-11 overall and 3-8 in the PBC, while Lander falls to 13-7, 7-4.
Lander's Michael Panaggio tied the game at 52-all with a three with 34 seconds remaining to give the Bearcats a chance at the win.
Panaggio, who connected on 8-of-12 field goals, including three 3 pointers, led Lander with 19 points, while Darius Carrier added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Omari Murray led the Lakers with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Shedrick added 12 points, Corbyn Moye 11 points, and Kelsey Terry 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Bearcats were 20-of-49 from the floor (40.8 percent), including 6-of-19 from the three-point line (31.6 percent), and 6-of-9 from the free throw line (66.7 percent).
Clayton connected on 22-of-55 shots from the field (40 percent), including 5-of-21 from the three-point line (23.8 percent) and 6-of-8 from the foul line (75 percent).
The Lakers, who led at halftime, 21-20, outrebounded Lander, 33-29.
