GREENWOOD - The Lander women's basketball team placed four players in double figures and notched their fifth straight victory Wednesday night when the Lady Bearcats defeated Wingate, 69-63, in a non-conference game in Cuddy Arena.

Lander, which hosts UNC Pembroke at 1:30 Saturday in their Peach Belt Conference opener, improves to 5-2 overall, while the Bulldogs sink to 3-4.

Aarika Judge's double-double led the way for Lander as the senior scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Bre Crum added 12 points and six assists, Ty'hesha Reynolds 10 points and six assists, and Breshay Johnson 10 points.

Morgan McGee paced Wingate with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Andrea Bertrand added 11 points and Chantal Dunbar eight rebounds.

Lander, which led, 34-29, at halftime, connected on 27-of-61 floor shots (44.3 percent), including 9-of-22 threes (40.9 percent), and 6-of-10 free throws (60 percent). 

Wingate, which outrebounded Lander, 42-35, made 23-of-62 field goals (37.1 percent), but were 0-of-15 from the three-point line. the Bulldogs also connected on 17-of-22 foul shots.
