YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - Sydney Thompson made her second goal of the year a memorable one when she found the back of the net Wednesday afternoon to lead the Lander women's soccer team to a 1-0, double-overtime, Peach Belt Conference victory over Young Harris College.

Lander improves to 6-2-4 overall and 3-2-3 in the PBC, while Young Harris slips to 5-9-0, 2-7-0.

Thompson netted the game-winning goal at 105:47 off a pass from Taylor Hurst.

The Bearcats dominated the game offensively, outshooting YHC, 23-12. Lander also led in corner kicks, 5-4.

Young Harris goalkeeper Arielle Charles was credited with 14 saves, while winning goalie Katie Lyle had four.

Lander next travels to Columbus State Saturday for a PBC contest at 3 p.m.
