GREENWOOD - The Lander volleyball team won its third straight game Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated UNC Pembroke, 3-0, in a Peach Belt Conference game in Horne Arena. Lander downed UNCP, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19.

Lander improves to 16-5 overall and 5-5 in the PBC, while the Braves drop to 11-15, 2-10.

Sydney Tracy led the Lander attack with 13 kills, while Kendall Korte and Jessica Register added double-doubles. Korte tallied 11 kills and 11 digs, and Register 30 assists and 18 digs. Julia Ferreira-Alves chipped in 22 digs.

UNCP was led by Nicole Mathews (15 kills, 16 digs), Caroline Pridgen (11 kills), Sabrina Gonzalez (40 assists, 15 digs), Danielle Brown (30 digs), Josephine Yang (16 digs) and Ka'asha Jefferies 11 digs.

Lander will next host Converse College in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21.
