Box Score GREENWOOD - The Lander women's soccer team tied for the fourth time this season Saturday when the Lady Bearcats battled Peach Belt Conference rival Flagler College to a 1-1 deadlock at Van Taylor Stadium. The game was featured as the NSCAA National Game of the Week and was videostreamed nationally.
Lander moves to 5-2-4 overall and 2-2-3 in the PBC, while Flagler goes to 4-8-1, 3-4-1.
The Lady Bearcats took a 1-0 lead at 80:13 when Taylor Hurst popped in a header off a Hilary Ferguson assist right in front of the goal.
The Saints rallied in the final minutes of regulation to tie the game at 1-all on Abby Austin's goal, assisted by Evy Jacobs, at 87:39.
Lander outshot Flagler, 17-7, and led in corner kicks, 7-6.
Flagler goalkeeper Kaeta Choquette totaled five saves, while Lander's Katie Lyle had three.
The Lady Bearcats will next travel to Young Harris College for a PBC contest at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22.
