GREENWOOD – Julia Ferreira-Alves had a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs, while Tarryn Angermeir added 13 kills to lead the Lander volleyball team to a 3-1 Peach Belt Conference victory Friday night over UNC Pembroke at Horne Arena. Game scores were 25-11, 25-20, 22-25, 25-16.

Lander improves to 8-2 overall and 1-1 in the PBC, while UNCP drops to 6-7, 0-2.

Jessica Register added 35 assists for the Bearcats while Sarah Bradley had 30 digs and Kiki Hennessey had 14 digs. Register also had three service aces.

UNCP was led by Sabrina Gonzalez (13 kills, 15 digs), Sarah Bower (11 kills), Caroline Pridgen (10 kills), Shekinah-Joy Toloumu (42 assists, 10 digs), Danielle Brown (21 digs), Marissa Baker (11 digs), and Morgan Westphal (10 digs).

Lander will next host Francis Marion in a PBC contest at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21.
