Box Score 2 AIKEN – The Lander volleyball completed its four-game sweep at the USC Aiken Invitational Saturday when the Bearcats downed Converse, 3-0, in the first game, then beat Limestone, 3-0, in non-conference matches at the Convocation Center.
The Bearcats, who improved to 7-1 overall, defeated Converse, 25-10, 25-22, 25-14, and outscored Limestone, 25-17, 27-25, 25-16.
Against Converse, Lander's Hannah Dederick and Kendall Korte had seven kills apiece, Jessica Register totaled 27 assists and 20 digs, Sarah Bradley tallied 21 digs and Julia Ferreira-Alves produced three service aces.
Converse was led by Scottie Kay Auton (eight kills), Jenna Martin (18 assists), and Aubrey Crosby 13 digs.
Against Limestone, Lander's Dederick and Angermeier had 13 and 10 kills respectively, Register 31 assists and 10 digs, Hennessey 13 digs and Bradley 10 digs. Ferreira-Alves added three service aces.
Limestone was led by Regan Youngs (11 kills), Emylee Gotsch (11 kills), Elayna Meachum (28 assists), and Rebecca Kerrison (21 digs).
Lander will next host Newberry College at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, in Horne Arena.
