PEMBROKE, N.C. - The Lander women's tennis team won two doubles matches and four singles to claim a 6-3 Peach Belt Conference victory over UNC Pembroke in the regular-season finale at the UNCP Varsity Courts.
Lander improves to 9-9 overall and 5-8 in the PBC, while UNCP slips to 10-11, 2-11.
In singles, No. 1 Mia Winterbottom (UNCP) def. Marion Courbis (LUW) 7-5, 6-0; No. 2 Leigh-Anne McAfee (UNCP) def. Carolina Lainez (LUW) 0-6, 6-3, 2-0, retired; No. 3 Ainhoa Rico Martin (LUW) def. Shelby Bickel (UNCP) 6-1, 6-1; No. 4 Cayce Bradley (LUW) def. Hannah Herlocker (UNCP) 6-4, 4-6, 7-5; No. 5 Tiffany Vanhpraseuth (LUW) def.
